Life History
Syed Muhammad Bin Mubarak Al Kirmani
(R.A)3 (also known as "Mir Khurd")
has written about the life, benevolence and eternal teachings
of His Holiness, Hazrat Sultan–ul-Mashaikh4
(R.A) and has introduced His Holiness as the beloved of the
God
Mir Khurd forefathers had close links
with His Holiness, Hazrat Sultan–ul-Mashaikh not only in Delhi
but from the days of Ajodhan (now known as Pakpattan in Punjab,
Pakistan). His grandfather met His Holiness at Hazrat Baba
Farid (R.A) hermitage (Khanqah) and became close to him.
The grandparents of His Holiness, Hazrat
Sultan–ul-Mashaikh (R.A) were Hazrat Khwaja Syed Ali Bukhari
(R.A) (paternal) and Hazrat Khwaja Syed Arab Bukhari (R.A)
(maternal). Both were cousins and after the devastation of
Bukhara in the reign of Balban they migrated and settled in
Badayun (now in Uttar Pradesh, India). Hazrat Khwaja Syed
Arab Bukhari (R.A) was an educated rich businessmen in Bukhara.
Badayun was listed on the map as muslim subjects in a Hindu
Raj. Badayun came to limelight when Qutubuddin Aibek conquered
it in the year 597-598 A.H./1197-1198 A.D. and a strong military
base was built up.
It is known that both Khwaja Syed Ali (R.A)
and Khwaja Syed Arab (R.A) led a humble life in Badayun. Khwaja
Syed Arab (R.A) had two children-a sonKhwaja Syed Abdullah
and a daughter BiBi Zulekha(R.A). Khwaja Syed Ali (R.A) had
a son Khwaja Syed Ahmed (R.A). Khwaja Syed Ahmed (R.A) married
BiBi Zulekha (R.A) and in 642 A.H/Oct. 1238 A.D at Badayun.
the luminary son was born to them, whom the world later recognized
as His Holiness, Hazrat Khwaja Syed Nizamuddin Aulia, Mehboob-e-Elahi;5
Sultan-ul-Mashaikh (R.A); . 6
People with love remember His Holiness as
Mehboob-e-Elahi. In the tradition (Hadees) of the Prophet
Muhammad (SAW) it is said:
"All the human beings are the family of the God and
the most beloved to Him is the one, who is the most kindful
to them."
According to Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A): a well known disciple
of His Holiness, has said :
"You have elevated the rosary of Baba Farid’s disciples
So you will be remembered as Nizam".
Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) was the first to use the name "Nizami"
in the history. In ‘Matla-ul-Anwar’, he writes:
"I am proud to be his slave
My Khwaja is Nizam and I am Nizami."
and further writes:
"On both Jins and INS (human beings)
Ruled, Nizamuddin Mehboob-e-Elahi."
